BOOKING A SESSION

How far in advance should I book my session?

If you have a particular event or special day in mind for your images, it’s advisable to secure your booking as early as possible. Allow approximately 6 weeks between your chosen shoot date and the delivery of your products. Given the high demand, our calendar fills up quickly, so don’t hesitate to reach out and secure your date.

I'm not a model. Is this even right for me?

Absolutely, without a doubt! We capture the beauty of ALL shapes, sizes, ages, and ethnicities. Interestingly, most of our clients are everyday individuals who seek stunning, intimate portraits for personal reasons or to gift someone special. While our website and social media may feature some models, the truth is that the majority of our clients are not models.

We warmly welcome you, where ever you are on your journey and are committed to ensuring your comfort throughout the experience, and providing you with exceptional photos that will be cherished for a lifetime.

I want to book a session but it feels out of my budget. Are payment plans available?

Absolutely! We believe everyone should have access to beautiful portraits! We offer pre-payment plans and flexibility to accommodate any budget. We also recommend following us on Instagram and subscribing to our newsletter to be the first to know about any pop-up ‘mini sessions’ that we hold throughout the year.

Do you travel? I want to do a photoshoot with you but I'm not local.

Yes, we have traveled many times for shoots in the past and will happily travel.  Certain travel expenses may apply depending on the location.

Where do the shoots take place?

Most of our shoots take place at the Our Asheville Studio in Fairview, NC… just 10 short minutes from downtown Asheville.

As our studio is mobile, we are also happy to shoot at hotels, Airbnbs, or your private residence if that is preferred.  Please note that any Airbnb and hotel costs are 100% covered by the client. We are happy to offer suggestions on the best rooms and environments for your boudoir photoshoot.

PRE-SESSION QUESTIONS

What's included in my session?

Each session includes a pre-session consultation, professional hair & makeup (in studio), up to 2 hrs of shooting time, professional retouching, and a private image reveal and ordering session. See our The Investment page for complete details. Note: Images are not included in the session fee.

What is the pre-session consultation?

Boudoir shoots require a tremendous amount of trust. The pre-session consultation is an important step of the trust building process for you and us. For you, we want you to be as comfortable as possible the day of your shoot. We offer both in-person and virtual consultations to fit everyone’s schedule. The consultation also allows you to meet us in person (or virtually in person). We will ask all kinds of questions to get to know you and your vision for the session and set expectations. We will also guide and help with makeup and wardrobe decisions. It’s really a chance to discuss everything about your session and put to rest any fears. Clients leave the consultation feeling prepared and energized for their upcoming session and you will too!

Ok, so how much does it really cost?

Our minimum investment for a photo session starts at $495 for an on location shoot and $695 for in studio.  Some clients invest a little on a la carte products while some invest several thousand on our curated collections after they see the images we’ve created together. Our average client spend is $2,995.  What you spend ultimately depends on variety of factors such as the number of images, type of album, and other products purchased.  We also have curated collections to selected from or you can make it completely customized.  Payment plans are available!

Who provides the wardwobe?

Exploring lingerie is an exciting part of the boudoir experience for many women. If you’re already a lingerie enthusiast with a dresser full of options, you know just how enjoyable it can be! Feel free to bring at least 3 outfits with you, and don’t stress – we’ll be there every step of the way to offer guidance, assistance, and suggestions regarding outfits. We’ll also provide you with a wardrobe guide prior to your consultation.

How private is the shoot?

Your shoot is extremely private! If your shoot is in studio, after your hair and makeup is done, the hair & makeup stylist leaves the studio. Only Jason and Megan (or a trusted female assistant) will be with you during the shoot.

THE PHOTO SHOOT

What happens the day of the shoot?

Prepare to spend approximately 3 hours in the studio or your chosen shoot location. Upon arrival, we’ll greet you warmly, engage in a brief chat, and introduce you to your talented hair and makeup artist (if in studio). Together, we’ll review your wardrobe selections, and then you can relax while you get glammed up.

Once you’re ready, you’ll step into your first outfit. No worries about choosing; we’re here to guide you. As you ease into your initial pose—a universally flattering and straightforward one—prepare for your first behind-the-scenes glimpse. It’s the moment where any lingering nerves tend to vanish, revealing a newfound appreciation for your unique beauty.

Throughout the session, Jason and team will expertly guide you through various poses, even providing demonstrations when needed. Our team will remain on hand to ensure your hair is perfect and assist with any wardrobe adjustments.

Will you help with posing?

Absolutely! We love this part. We have a variety of poses for different body shapes and sizes. Some subtle, some cute and some totally sexy.

You’ll become so comfortable that you’ll be adding your own body language that will make each photo unique to your personality. We promise you don’t have to worry about this at all.

Do I have to get naked during the session?

Nope! This is your photo shoot. You only do what you are comfortable with. This is all about how you want to see yourself. What you wear (or don’t wear) is your choice.

Can I bring a friend for support?

We currently do not allow friends to attend the photo shoot at our studio unless they also have a booking.  We’ve run into times where uncomfortable comments, bad advice or off the cuff remarks have been made that were intended to be encouraging but ended up putting a negative vibe on the day.  We understand there will be nerves (it’s super common) and we will do everything within our power to help you feel safe and comfortable during your shoot.  If you feel safer having your friend or significant other nearby, they are welcome to wait outside the studio during the shoot.

POST-SHOOT QUESTIONS

How much do you retouch?

To finalize your images for your reveal, our edits consist primarily of color correcting and skin smoothing. We’ll eliminate blemishes and smooth the color and texture where needed. We will also eliminate creases caused by posing or wardrobe. It’s essential to note that we do not digitally reshape or alter your body’s proportions. If you’re seeking advanced photoshop techniques to portray a different size, our studio might not be the right fit. Instead, we focus on capturing your genuine beauty through thoughtful posing and lighting techniques.

Having said that, we understand your concerns about scars, tattoos, or other personal aspects you might want removed. We’re happy to have a conversation about it. Additional fees may be incurred depending on the complexity of the request.

Will my photos be private?

Absolutely! Your privacy is at the heart of our core values. We consider all images private so they will not be used on our website or social media unless you offer to give us written consent to use them. We ONLY share or post images that we have an authorized model release contract attached.

How long before the final products are ready?

It takes about 14-21 days to fulfill your order. Certain times of year, like November and December it could even take a little longer due to the volume our vendors receive during the holidays.
